Who We Are

About Us

Potrika
is the leading Bengali weekly newspaper which takes pride in its constructive neutral coverage of the news concerning the British-Bangladeshi Community within the UK and worldwide.

Potrika's commitment to follow issues relating to the community, reflecting their concerns and interests has led to the extreme popularity of this newspaper.
We are the leading Bengali newspaper to publish at the beginning of each week.

Potrika was established in 1997 and within a short period of time circulation grew. We have been serving the community for the last 14 years and it is the
only broadsheet Bengali newspaper published from the UK.

Under the
new management since August 2008 Potrika has adapted a new policy of leading and supporting public campaign, particularly within the British-Bangladeshi community.

With the needs and aspirations of the Bangladeshi Community in UK highlighted in our newspaper, Potrika also seeks to play an important role in
generating awareness of integration within a wider society.

Our
twenty eight pages covers the latest news from the UK, Bangladesh and around the world. News that includes coverage of business news, sports, films, health, leisure, fashion, education and environment amongst many more.

Potrika is
distributed throughout the UK by newstrade through traditional distribution channels including many parts of Europe and in Bangladesh. It also reaches a large number of subscribers by post.

Potrika's news coverage and reports are regarded as a
valuable service to its 50,000 readers and particularly amongst the British-Bangladeshi community
